Translation from Portuguese:

Hi Avi! How are you? Thanks for you time! This new album is already your 27th!!! Looking back, how do you analyze your career?
Hello Pedro, great to talk with you. I'm honored that you like my music in Portugal.Yeah, there are quite a few albums, they consists of different styles of music that I love, but all based around Classic Rock. There are more albums in the cookin' :)

More recently you embarked in a journey called Very Heepy Very Purple and this is the part V of the idea. I try to pay tribute to your heroes Uriah Heep and Deep Purple?
Those are my all-time favorite bands. Till this day, when I put a classic album by Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Dio, Rainbow … it makes you feel good. You know this is the best music ever written. So naturally I was influenced by this style of music and wanted to make such albums too. This is my tribute to the best bands ever.

To this album, you have musicians from all over the world. How do you get in contact with them all?
Music creation today is more accessible than ever before.  You can get in touch with great musicians from all over the world, using the web. There are so many platforms like awesome music collaboration sites like Kompoz. Then you’ve got YouTube, Facebook …  The collaboration possibilities are limitless.

And all great musicians even if some of them are not very known. Do you gave them strictly order about what they have to do or not?

I always got an image in my mind regarding the general sound of a song, but the guidelines to the musicians are not strict. Sometimes the musicians play a part that I didn’t expect at all and it’s a great surprise. Except for the vocal melodies and lyrics, those are usually strict 

In the recording process have you worked together in studio or it was done in separate ways?
This is a worldwide project, so it’s much easier for the participant to record each at his own studio. This is quite unique approach of creating music together.

There are/there was recently in this project some Portuguese musician?
Not yet, but all musicians are very welcomed. I always look for musicians who want to collaborate in creating new music.

In this part V are evident the influences of classic hard rock of bands like Deep Purple but also some oriental influences and jazz fusion influences as well. The result is a very rich collections of songs… How do you do to catch all these influences and mixed them in the writing process?
I enjoy listening to different style of music, and eventually those styles sink into my music and get blended with other musical styles. Sometimes I challenge myself writing a song in specific style, it can start as a jam, a funny joke or a even a serious song.

Could you play like Ritchie Blackmore? It’s a funny title to a song… How it appears?
Ritchie Blackmore is the reason I wanted to play guitar. His sound, riffs and melodies created all-time favorite songs and albums.  Like Ian Anderson once said about him“ Ritchie not only knows when to play a note, but he also knows when not to play it”.Take any song by Ritchie, even the weaker ones; there will always be a cool guitar in them. This song is a kinda tribute to Ritchie, but not only, it’s a tribute to the whole Deep Purple family 

Do you have a stable line up to play live? There will be any chance of having sometour to promote V? And next steps for you? In what are you working for?
I wish it will be possible someday. Currently I’m only writing and recording new music.New “Very Heepy Very Purple” is in progress and also other Classic Rock albums, blended with lots of musical styles.

Thank you very much! Do you want to add something more?
Thank you Pedro! I want to thank everyone that listens to my music; all my albums are available for free download on my site. Spread the word  Rock On!
