Rock méditerranéen

bruno karnel • Dec 28, 2010

Bravo Mr Rosenfeld !

Avi Fantastic... Better Than Ever..

musictomyears • Dec 9, 2010

Wow. Wee... Avi. your just seem to get better and better, with each and every single album. I check out from you,and totally enjoy, the buzz and thrills and simply pleasures, that come from within inside them. Let alone the tantalizing, charismatic, exciting sparks that lighting up, your heart and soul. Filled with beautiful intoxicating, acoustic and electric guitar music. That is really down to earth, full of live and fun filled joyous voice of yours on tops. And great sax and trumpet playing to boot. Press play and simply lap up more and more. And save to your ipod play list favorites. As you sure will be listening to this album often.

Wundervoll - Avi Rosenfeld hat's wieder mal geschafft

Bluespfaffe • Dec 3, 2010

The good is getting better

Carybe • Jan 27, 2011

I remember the first time I listened to Avi singing in Hebrew here on Jamendo and thinking it was somehow strange, I mean the language with the music styles. We are really an animal of habits... now, it just is not strange anymore as it sounds absolutely natural. Because it is natural... as natural as the ones in English and good, very good. It seems to me that there's some recording improvement in quality terms. The vocals are more "leveled" with the music, just to mention one aspect. Great to hear from you again. Almost forgot... the cover art, is very beautiful, really.

מזל טוב Avi.

Beautiful Guitar Combination

m_masters • Dec 26, 2010

"Olam Hadash" From the mid-paced Blues entry, the style was obviously set. The theme was forceful yet contained some subtleties as it moved through its paces. The Repeating acoustic carried phrase which build much of the themes began to be imprinted in my mind and I could often predict when the phrase would appear and therefore carry the theme perfect with me. A great electric guitar break interrupted the theme with wonderfully constructed melodies. "Mediterranean Moondance" A great feeling acoustic guitar with the firm strumming and fast picking built an excellent setting in a flowing Spanish form. The sound from the Tanervas and Riviara were there for me to hear. "Ani Hozer El Hair" I really got into the Jazz feel of this track. With the steady percussion and piano, the feeling was sweetly present. The vocals carried a style that was beautifully moulded into the whole theme. "Al Habar" A simply strummed acoustic guitar carried a steady backdrop which rode on the mid-paced percussion. The introduction of the electric guitar worked superbly with the piece to deliver an heightened sense and emphasis. "Dry Sep" The faster paced Reggae based form was well done and carried very well by the vocals. "Meshane Tsura" A nice enough Blues piece with nothing really special, apart from a very good electric guitar break. "Hayam" A soft pipe accompanied entry created the setting for the smooth vocals that appeared and wove beautifully through the musical setting that was built on a an acoustic guitar and horns. The vocal harmonies were also wonderful. The softness almost Hymnal quality and style carried an almost dreaming effect. I thought the music on this album was superbly performed. The vocals where generally of a very high standard with much variety. The acoustic and electric guitars were a beautiful combination that worked to perfection.

Awesome

I am agreeing with "Carybe's " comments and just adding some stars here for you. Thanks so much for bringing your album to my attention, Avi. Very nice! I also love the album cover. Beautiful painting!

Keep it rockin'

tomcrusader • May 31, 2011

Let me just begin by saying I've listened to this album on repeat for hours now without realizing it; ergo it's really well balanced and produced. But you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that ;) "Hebrew classic rock" is a sweet invitation and I'm not dissapointed. This is really something out of the ordinary and I'm enjoying it to the max. Only negative thing I have to say is that the vocals suffer the same not-so-perfect quality I posess myself, and a bit more auto tuning is really suggested - you just don't want pitchy notes on a recording, mate :S Where's the next album???

One Can Be Luck But Three= 100% SKILL

RangerSeriesBlack • Dec 14, 2010

'Kompozitsia IV', is Mult-Genre, Full Service Album with strong Classic Rock-Blues Influence. This work while labeled as IV is the Third in the Kompizitsia-Jamendo published works and continues Avi Rosenfeld's tradition of excellently composed, arranged and performed songs. Musically two elements-equally form the foundation of this album: Classic Rock-Blues and Hebrew Tradition in the form of lyrics and Native Sound as heard in some of the woodwind voices and strings. Rosenfeld, has the ability to convey strong emotion in his vocal tracks thus the inability to understand Hebrew is irrelevant as the "Sound" is universal and soul stirring. Unique to this specific album are selections that explore Hip Hop, Latin and English Lyrics to more profound degree than in prior works. Track #4. 'Mediterranean Moondance', captures Spanish Heat in the sparkling Latin Spice Piano and Acoustic Guitar riffs that give this track vibrant-dynamic life. Track #6. 'Al Habar', a Hebrew-Bluess-Rock have some of the sweetest Minor Chord Harmony around coupled with a Guitar Solo that combines Western Blues with Middle Eastern Accents make this a Singular Rock Work-Period! Track #7. "Dry Sep', is clever-FUN- and smiling inducing with an actual Hip Hop Rap infused in the lyrics. Track #10. 'Under Bleeding Skies', mixes English Cowboy- Western Ballad style with hard driving Electric Guitar. Yeee Haw! Eleven tracks comprise the album and all are fine compositions. You are certain to find at least one to add to your personal all time favorites lists.

An interesting album - bles - rock!

motyw71 • Dec 3, 2010

Stylistically diverse album - sometimes the average quality of mixes - but all in all a good album rock - bles. I heard on the blues, flamenco, rock, saving instruments, guitar, piano, blues style, the sound without electricity, sound, trumpets, specific tunes, change of mood - "Dry Sep, flute, saxophone - wind instruments. - "Under the Bleeding Skies" - punks climates! Plate is highly appreciate! And although it's not my cup of tea give 8! Greet and wish success - and invite me!

an intersting experience!

I have not heard rock in hebrew before! I am fully pleased with the sound of the album both in the quality of the sound itself and the players and singer. I am especially fond of the songs Gam Babker and Al Kanfei especially the violin! keep up the good work guys!

Good album

Comment réviser ses classiques sans s'ennuyer

balthaz • Jan 27, 2011

Album superbe.

Wow, well this album was suggested to me, so I gave it a try. My Herbew is rusty..(lol..how about non-existent) However I like the beats and the meld of the guitar licks and the band. It is a nice combination between folk and classic rock. Flows well. Thanks for sharing!!

All I can say is.. WOW AMAZING

I've always had an admiration for new talents and this album is a good example of a new, great talent. This music woke me up and made me pay attention . And, miraculously the album downloaded itself. I don't even remember how this happened.. I guess my computer has good taste.. haha Joking aside.. Ravi, this is great stuff. You will be famous. I can't wait to listen to your other albums. Good luck.

HECK YES!!!!!

Again, this is awesome. I am going to have a download this and make a Cd of this, and blast it in my

car so my friends can hear it. They'll think at first I'll be listening to straight out country, and they'll be appalled (because I generally do not listen to country music). And then they'll hear the Hebrew, and they'll just plain faint xDDD This music is so catchy! From the first track, "Olam Hadash", I was absolutely enjoying myself. I also liked the shift away from vocal-centric songs into pieces like "Mediterranean Moondance", which has a fantastic and virtuosic piano solo, I might add ;) It's good to have some variety in an album, and this really fits the bill in mood and structure. Thank you so much for sharing with us, I'm having a blast with this album! :D

Avi Rosenfeld picks the most excellent album covers . . . I like to dive into their covers before I listen to the music . . . Nice visual, tasteful choices. The album's music is rich with flair and style and excellent music. One of my favorites was "Koevet Li HaShen" which had a depth and richness in regards to all the different aspects of the piece, instruments and vocals, layers, melody . .. . I loved the piano, and that tune was flying high. "Mediterranean Moondance" had me dancing and gave me wings to fly across the universe . . . "Al Kanfei Hanesharim" was a most beautiful melancholic, dreamy melody. Overall this is as excellent as the other Avi Rosenfeld albums . . . This group is an outstanding gold-mine of classic-rock and a couple of other genre's such as in "Dry Sep" which was sung in English, and was more rap than rock and huge fun . . . I really enjoy this upbeat, sunny style of rock .. .. wonderful listening. Excellent Rock, outstanding talent! - Wolfsong

Nice album retrieving the essentials of Rock and Blues....it's a fact it could be disappointing hearing to the songs in hebrew language.... I got lucky i can understand some words, but the main thing is that this album sounds charming, with dynamic voice and orchestration, various styles and talent inside....

excellent piece of art..Avi! Kudos ! Powerful, dynamic, though i don't understand the lyrics , i believe in my heart, your album encompasses messages of hope and love. It is full of life...... soul stirring,i should say! Culturally, your album reminds me/us of something very necessary...that is, to get back and be attached with one's roots. Being proud of your Hebrew tradition as mirrored in your kind of music, introduced me to who you are as an artist and as a person. It may not sound a review but simply an admiration on the totality of your work. Thanks for the inspiration! felicity:)

I stick my ears into this as well - and it's not because I know before what will be on the album, but for it's worth- while, with a laid-back touch, even when it's going wild. Avi and all musicians involved, I like this too - keep on the rockingrollingswinging thang. man.

[just a note: Everything I've wrote within review of album Kompositsia I applies to allKompositsia series, so for overall characteristics refer there. I tend to think of Kompositsialike it was one multi-disk album.] Number four. Many artists start to loose the juice at third release, but it is certainly not the case here. I can listen to this album whole day (after more of a year familiarizing with it) and still not get bored. I think I even learned some words of the language. Once again great sense of rhythm, performance skills and musical imagination -- to push onto us all the new klang, squeezing all of thew instrumentation not even coming close to any electronic tricks other than echo/reverb. This time (or maybe it is pure accident) the tunes are sorted into album in fast one--slow one style, ending with quite remarkable progmetal tune Under bleeding skies, so good, that my dear Elmyra said, it must be a cover. But it for sure isn't. Overall: decent album, eight stars [++++++--].

I'm going to start by saying that this album made my foot tap. Besides those songs recorded in English, I didn't understand what all was said- I was, however, almost perfectly content with this album. You thought to include jazz elements in some songs; as an American, I appreciate that, and as a music-enthusiast I like it because jazz is really a big forerunner to rock. While some songs went jazzy, others were funky and fresh-sounding, with plenty of guitar for any rock-lover's liking. This guitar, in turn, ranged from classical to full-blown electric. As a musician you incorporate an aspect that is rare nowadays; variety. Great work!

Excellent !

bruno karnel • May 5, 2011

Go tell your daddy", immédiat, efficace, imparable.

Good Strong Musical Performance with Great Guitar-Work

m_masters • Mar 28, 2011

"In My Winter Skies" The slow pace with soft to moderate vocals were nicely done and I found quite warming. However, I found the piece a little flat, with little movement and variation until the electric guitar solo. From then on, I felt the mood changed by inducing a little dynamism onto the sound. "Kaits Halom (Summer Dream)" A good traditional feel that had all the hallmarks of the genre. The acoustic guitar was stylishly superb, as the sound moved through the background blended with pipe melodies. "Go Tell Your Daddy" The upbeat Latin backdrop created an uplifting mood made for dancing. The brass created little bursts that captured the pace and enforced the feeling wonderfully. The piano's keys hammered away to again enhance the mood. My only criticism would be that the vocals were a little lackluster at times. "Ze Od Lo Meuhar (It's Not Too Late)" A nice mid paced feel with a heavy rhythmic thud to drive the pace a little harder. The saxophone and guitar solo's were wonderfully preformed. "Lev (Heart)" Very slow and heavy, with a determination in the vocals. I though this track contained possibly the best vocals on the album thus far. As the pace continued it was only broken by yet another excellent electric guitar solo. "Ay Caramba" Great driving Rock sound with a strong driving riff and percussion layer. The flowing electric guitar as it soloed and rode the riff brought a forceful and persistent energy to the sound. The changes introduced added wonderful movement along with the bold heavily injected riffs. The flowing and changing themes from the electric guitar melodies were inspiring. I enjoyed the musical flavours and the variety of the flavours here. The variations all produced quality to a very good standard. The guitars both acoustic and electric produced wonderful contributions. The percussion, hidden at times and in the forefront at other times played a strong and subtle part to the overall quality on the album. I felt that the vocals could have been more intense at times and some performances could have added a little more emotion. Stronger background vocal harmonies could also improve the overall vocal outcome. Piano, brass, pipes etc, were all wonderfully woven into the various pieces as in the example of "Go Tell Your Daddy".

Otro buen album

Cheers Avi & Company one more time.

Hooked in the first 30 seconds! Tight inventive brilliant, even though I don't understand Hebrew it's okay- there is lots of English - but more - the universal language - music! Says it all - this is deeply "felt" music and it shines through. Amazing live sound and Excellent - DOWNLOAD THIS! I expect to you on the radio - I am sure you have lots of airtime - yes? - Musicianship is tops. Nelson note - (Avi- something happened to track 4 ? but perhaps its a good time to meditate and take a breath!) Something about #7 "lev" is especially cool/psychedelic to me... the organ? hmmm wow! great work & guitar *!! Star for overall shredding cool album!

And another one from Avi and colleagues. It never disappoints me and even if there might have been (yeah might yeah) a small, a little bit of exotic bonus (yeah a little bit - just a little bit yeah), because of the for rock music comparatively exotic where -coming-froms, it's long gone, man (yeah long gone yeah). [Should not have been a white spot on the map anyway, for some time ago I read Gilad Elbom's "Scream queens of the Dead Sea" - and yes, some Avi Rosenfeld music then and now...] I'm listening to it while typing this and this in the round brackets is the background choir. :-)))))

A kinda " impressionnist " album merging different influences, and this time several languages too... Jazz, Pop, Rock, and some other bribes of musical influences merge together in this nice listening album. Avi keeps his peculiar Pop Rock class but goes further and don't stay only in his usual shoes...with success!!

Gutes Album einer seltenen Gattung

Shalom, Avi this album starts furioso, like swinging rock. Or rocking swing??? Makes my feet tapping. Followed by two folk influenced tracks. Oh, what´s that ? Track # 4 is muted, empty, silent?!?! #5 is a fantastic mix of gypsy-swing and big-band-latin music. Git-soli are great on #7. Powerful Instrumentalrock on #10 with fantastic gitwork. #11 is an interesting genremix of traditional hebrew folk music and modern heavy metal elements. Well educated musicians are showcasing their various skills and talents on different musicstyles here. Good work, guys U.L.I.

Classic Rock Mingles with the Blues Among Other Things to Say the Least

RangerSeriesBlack • Dec 26, 2011

'Kompozitsia V', is a 11 track**, Classic Rock-Blues, Hebrew and English Language album. **The Album's Liner Notes Reports Track #4 has a Technical Glitch and is Silent. A link is provided on the Album's Jamendo Page with an audible version. Avi Rosenfeld, is as Gifted Musician/Composer/Arranger as he is Prolific and as of the time of this Review a total of Seven Albums exist in the 'Kompozitsia' Series. This Review, of course, focuses specifically on Number V. Each of Edition of Komposzitsia has a Unique Personality and are not simple Continuations on a Theme. In this Offering, Rosenfeld's Iconic Classic Rock Sound is still very much Present but more Mingled with Blues while Vocal Tracks have a Stronger English Presence. Likewise, in the Instrumental Works, Track #10. 'Ay Caramba', a Highly Skilled Performance demonstrates the Artist's Extreme Guitar Skills. Musically, virtually every Instrument that comprises a Modern Rock Band can be heard with Generous Electric Guitar which backs the Sound of Style Elements from Rock to Traditional Israeli-Middle Eastern to Country Western and Middle of the Road Adult Contemporary Pop. In short, if this Artist/Band were a Gas Station it would Definitely Be Full Service! Track #1. 'Nahag Mirutsim( Race Driver)', is a Vigorous, Uptempo Rock-Swing(Big Band) Piece with an Unexpectedly Lively Piano Riff mixed in with the Classic Rock Sound and Exciting Hebrew Vocal. Track #2. 'In My Winter Skies', has English Lyrics with a Subtle Western( as Western Ballad )Style and Mellow Acoustic Guitar and Percussion. The Vocalization is Earnest and Head Nod inducing. Electric Guitar enters the mix in the Song's latter stage and gives the work a New Depth with its Piercing and Minor Chord Rich Manner. Track #5. 'Keren Shemesh(Ray of Sun)', Features Hebrew Lyrics set against a Retro EZL Pop and Country-Western Vocie. Listen for Clarinet to take the Role usually reserved for 'Fiddle' and mix with a Traditional Israeli Theme. Unique, Clever and very Fun to Hear. Track #10. 'Ay Caramba', is an Electric Guitar Anthem Supreme. It's Highly Complex fashion is similar to Fellow Jamendo Artist, Black Alexxx. The Piece is Polished, Dynamic and Shakes the Rafters! And as Good as the Solo Sections are--when the Guitars Go Chorus the Resulting Harmony is nothing less than Magical. Overall, a Stunner of Old-New-Mixed-Style-Culture-Feeling and the List Goes On... :D

[just a note: Everything I've wrote within review of album Kompositsia I applies to allKompositsia series, so for overall characteristics refer there. I tend to think of Kompositsialike it was one multi-disk album.] Five already? And everywhere blues. When listening to this particular album I've discovered something. A feeling rather than certain observation -- it seems as all (or most of the tunes) were recorded first as just singing with acoustic guitar and then all oter layers of overdubbing were applied. But technical guesses aside -- from the musical point of view this is yet another relief from the crap the TV is pushing onto us. Blues as 'bluessy' as it only could be, even if spiced sometime with Levant tastes.I like this album as a whole (in fact I'm listening to all Kompozitsia series shoved into one playlist, so have sometimes problem to distinguish, which song comes from which disk), but I like most Ay Carramba and remember most the final track Before the battle. What I'm still amazed with, is how one can record one album after another, that sound so similar, yet so different. Eight stars (no! again?) [++++++--].

As the cover itself, the album is impressionnist indeed....Kompo album are patchworks, as Avi told us in his presentation. Anyway, this opus 6 shows us new styles, new collaborators, new inside the continuity of the previous ones, in two words, very good. As far as the influences are concerned, i told once i felt some lloyd Cole inside Avi's work....this time, i felt more Midnight Oil's electro acoustic sounds, rock, blues melt with many other features. A must listen to!

The great achievement from Avi, under my perspective, is the legitimacy and capacity of identification, with which he takes hand and delivers some sonorities and musical styles, that may be seen under some perspectives, as stereotypes. The fact that this or that specific form of music or style, may have a strong connotation with some of its factual origins, doesn't mean that we may not understand and interpret it, in its also universal interactive signification, while making necessarily part of a bigger necessity, which is the one of the human emotions. And Avi, uses it admirably... even when the barrier of the language leaves us with some emptiness or disconsolation, the delivery and both musical capacity and quality, always ends up compensating and effectively being a rewarding experience. This, is generically an album quite tranquil and serene...starting right away with the delightful interaction of the first track... a treat. Rock, blues country and traditional music, through the heart, hand and voice of a Israeli man of the world, makes this pack, another unique blend with a valuable asset that goes way beyond any restrictions of concepts and assumptions. In my modest opinion, a favorite amongst favorites. Finally, a note about the cover art, which constitutes a personal signature, while again and all over, an excellent contribution to the overall concept... just like happened, moreover, in all the previous releases.

Awesome

The Coffee House Express Has Arrived

RangerSeriesBlack • Dec 27, 2011

'Kompositsia VI', is a 12 track, Hebrew-English, Multi-Genre album. Usually the Description "Classic Rock" would appear in my Classification of an Avi Rosenfeld Album and indeed such Selections are Present in this Collection but the overwhelming Feeling of this Edition of 'Kompositsia' is one of Relaxed Contemplation and Retrospection, which are often, associated with Coffee Houses. Musically, dare I say it?--:D, Classic Rock, Traces of Country and Western, Blues, Humor, Easy Listening and a Unique Israeli Style( which more accurately be a Rosenfeld Style) that Regular Fans of this Artist will recognize when they hear it. This is a Full Length Album! Listeners will not encounter any Demo or Snippet tracks so be prepared for a Prolonged Musical Excursion. The Examples listed below are Standouts in an Album of Standouts and are only shown for Illustrative Purposes. Track #2. 'Shalva(Serenity)', is a Hebrew Language, EZL Pop-Rock Piece. Guitars-Acoustic an Electric render a Gentle Harmony to Rosenfeld's Vocal while accompanied by a Mellow Rock Drum Cadence. Track #6. 'Wait For Me', is a English Language, Hard Rock Piece. The Song is Powerful and Driven and while Less Mellow than many of its Companion Tracks fits the Mood of the Album very nicely. Track #10. 'Hatsi Yareach(Half Moon)', is a Hebrew Language, Hard Rock Track. This Composition also breaks the Mellow Pace Mold but has a Distinctly Different Character from Track #6. Full of Minor Chords and Completely Electric Sound; the Guitars are in Full Shrieking Demon Persona. Track #3. 'Good December', is All Sweetness and Light. Soft Acoustic Guitar and Violin serenade the Listener with a Subtle Country and Western Sound. Rosenfeld delivers the English Lyrics in a Velvety Croon and Lulls the Listener into a State of Contentment. Track #12. 'Rainbow Woman', Opens with a Full Female Chorus which Explodes into a Adult Contemporary Pop Ballad as Avi takes Lead with English Lyrics. The Expression "Rip Roaring Good Time" is certainly apt with this Gregarious Composition. Overall, Another Feather in the Artist's Cap! Good Music, Great Mood(s), Fine Ambiance. What more could Fans ask?

yet another decent blues disk

bizun_ • Apr 1, 2012

[just a note: Everything I've wrote within review of album Kompositsia I applies to allKompositsia series, so for overall characteristics refer there. I tend to think of Kompositsialike it was one multi-disk album.]Another of the Kompositsia series, and once again a nice album being fine mix of almost all blues/rock incarnations. Nice hummable melodies, elaborate and carefully layered arranges, sometimes simplistic, sometimes huge.My favourites? Rainbow Woman and good December, but it was hard to choose among all those little masterpieces of craftsmanship.Eight stars, because it is very good record. I'll repeat, I'd like to hear them on stage. [++++++++--]

Man muss wohl kein Prophet sein...

Ernst Ellert • Dec 21, 2011

Seven Is Indeed a Lucky Number for Kompozitsia VII :D

RangerSeriesBlack • Dec 27, 2011

'Kompozitsia VII,is a 11 track, Hebrew-English Language, Classic Rock-Easy Listening-Mixed Genre album. As alluded to in the Review Heading "7", is a reputedly Lucky Number and that Belief holds true, in my opinion, for the Seventh in the 'Kompozitsia' Series. This Collection IS Substantially Broader in Emotional Scope with Greater "Warmth" than heard in Previous Editions. In other words--Classic Rock, while still present is a Less Dominant Presence and the Selections exudes more Folk and EZL Pop. Some Listeners may hear a Trace of the Beatles Style--Track #4. Night Time' with its Sweet Vocal Harmonies and a Gentle Lead Solo will make this a Nostalgic for some. Equally, the song is more Sedate(in general) and Romantic(Eros) as the Album's Cover Art suggests. Listen for a Honey Smooth Trumpet Voice-[ that Feels as if it were lifted off the Soundtrack of a Spaghetti Western) that is matched by a Heavenly Guitar Solo. Musically, Subtle Traces of Country and Western Influences along with Acoustic Folk Instrumentation--Track #2. 'Close to Me' to Seductive and Smokey 1960-70s Style Blues-Rock paired with Hebrew Lyrics in Track #1. 'Mechake Leshuvech(Waiting For Your Return. Among the other Selections: Track #6. 'Lovely', is One of the Most Romantic Ballads, English Lyrics, ever Performed by Rosenfeld. Piano, Violin and Acoustic Guitar flow as smoothly as a Meadow Stream and Support His Vocal without an Ounce of Interference. Track #8. 'Lihiyot Kene(To Be Honest)', is a Divinely Inspired Duet, Hebrew Lyrics, between Avi and a Chorus of Female Voices all of which Croon in a Silky Fashion. Saxophone makes a strong appearance and comes across as faintly Smooth Jazz but this may be due to the Emphasis on Emotion heard in its Extended Solo. Track #9. 'You Don't Need to Worry', Brings backs Avi's Rock Sound while still being an English Lyric Love Ballad. Overall, a Romantic Album that is esp suitable for the Listeners who not particularly romantic yet cable of Feeling/Appreciating the Power of Eros Musically Expressed.

Bon album

Strongly healthy and genuine... just like clear pure water, sprouting out of a natural spring.

Carybe • Dec 24, 2011

I was born in a very small village, so small, that besides the sparse amount of houses around the one where I was born, only raw nature and quite a few cultivated pieces of land, could be seen even from the highest spot. It's hard to imagine that it was not so long ago, but in fact and despite the idea of evolution and considerable general improvements which occurred in the meanwhile, those times, even if somehow scattered by my coming to the city on an early age, had a great importance and benefit, both in my personality while an individual, as in the comprehension of the efforts and capacity of overcoming, that we, as a species can have in times of probation. Everybody helped everyone and that interaction, was also an important social bond, since it also functioned as an aggregating factor, which by default and naturally, fostered the healthy coexistence amongst them. It were very harsh times, with tough challenges on daily bases and despite the fact that I was saved from practically all of them, a clear notion of their reality and importance as an example, will serve always as a generator and safe conduct along the rest of my living days. Groups of people working hard on the land and singing at the same time, or along the often long and very troubled walkings by rough ways to get there and back home, is perhaps the best image that I can come up with, to exemplify the healthy "convenient" acquaintanceship that existed. Hard times surely, but also very healthy, genuine and happy. And that, is very clear in my mind. And the proof that, willing, we are able to get along and carry life ahead, in healthy interaction and overcoming... that said... you have here quite a wonderful work Avi... again. A healthy and strong kind of album, with genuineness overflowing everywhere and lots of comprehensive creativity and musicality, parading also some somewhat different styles... creativity and musicality, which come delivered through a general and unequivocal competence, that also shines bright and through quite naturally. An album for rockers and lovers... which we all are, natural or eventually. And again a very interesting and characteristic cover.

Merci.

Reaching the 7th sky

Dom The Bear • Dec 28, 2011

7 is the number of perfection in the Torah....of course Avi is human ;), and perfection doesn't lie inside this world, but this album reaches some maturity, merging different directions one could have heard inside the previous Kompozitisia: pop rock, blues, folk violins, more heavy guitar riffs, and always this militant tranquillity that i said, from the 1st album, i found in a known reference, Lloyd Cole. Thanks for sharing, as usual it was a very nice moment!!

Bon album!!!

Impossible?Or maybe not..?[just a note: Everything I've wrote within review of albumKompositsia I applies to all Kompositsia series, so for overall characteristics refer there. I tend to think of Kompositsia like it was one multi-disk album.]Avi is spoiling us. Another record in such short time. This one is kept in more reflective and pensive mood, with less dense arrange and more ballads. A nice bit to slow down. Right now, when I'm writing this review, with Kompozitsia VII in my headphones, it corresponds well with gloomy rainy weather outside, and yet is kind of cheerful, even if somehow nostalgic. And yes: you do not need to worry as it says in final piece. I agree. Eight stars [++++++++--]

Absolutely Stunning!

Wolfsong.thePoet • Dec 23, 2011

AHHHHH . . . "Close to Me" made me melt . . No surprise that Avi Rosenfeld offers another spectacular album . . replete with excellent tunes and vibrant sounds . . . and stunning arrangements using instruments played by his extraordinarily talented friends . . . of which he seems to have such a large number . .It is so impressive . . . especially as each track has a special instrument showcased and soloed . . . guitars, pianos, saxophones, you name it . . . I was blown away at each of those moments . . . The bluesy/rock piece, "Night Time London" was positively breath-taking . . . and "Lovely" was a tear jerker with its sweet melody and strings . . . and that gorgeously heavenly guitar . . . Overall . . . an album with some very creative tunes . . . this group has a healthy talent and creativity that is so evident in their music . . . and Jamendo is quite lucky to have them on board . . . always a special treat when they offer a new album . . .
